RESEARCH INTERESTS My general area of research interest is the social and economic history of medieval England in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. I am interested in the history of markets and trade, the nature of peasant society, and the interaction between towns and villages in the medieval period. Currently, I am working on a book that explores the relationship between the growth of centralized government and the development of peasant society in the high Middle Ages.
