RESEARCH INTERESTS Right now I'm working on a book on cultural hybridity in the modern West and putting the finishing touches on Gendering Disability (Rutgers, 2003), an edited work with Beth Hutchison, and on the three volumes Women's and Gender History in Global Perspective (Illinois, 2003-4). One other book is just about finished, Europe in the Twentieth Century World (Bedford, 2004), while the five volume Encyclopedia of Women in World History is still being written, but by a cast of hundreds.
