Integrates perspectives from sociology, history, public health, medicine, and the humanities to define health, understand the diverse ways scholars study health, and identify factors that influence the prevalence, distribution, and experience of four health conditions: obesity; depression; cancer; and HIV/AIDS. Implications of research for medical practice, ethics, and policies to enhance health worldwide. Credit not given for both this course and 01:920:220.
