Examination of background, unfolding, and consequences of Hideyoshi Invasions of Korea (1592-1598) as a major international war. Considers the war's influence on Korea, Japan, and China and the political, military, socioeconomic, and cultural history of early modern East Asia more broadly. Transcends the boundary of national history to reach a comprehensive understanding of the "international" connectedness of East Asia.
