Recent past of Russian culture and politics. Study of how the Stalinist past influenced late Soviet Russian culture, contributed to the collapse of the USSR, and shaped post-Soviet Russia through examination of powerful fiction texts and films that defined the post-Stalin era, from 1950s onward, as well as nonfiction and theoretical texts on Stalinism and its aftermath.
