Virtual Book Talk with the Editors of

As If She Were Free: A Collective Biography of Women and Emancipation in the Americas

Join the Slavery + Freedom Studies Working Group at the Rutgers CCA for a virtual book talk with editors Tatiana Seijas (Rutgers, New Brunswick), Erica L. Ball (Occidental College), and Terri L. Snyder (Cal. State, Fullerton) on their new book, As If She Were Free: A Collective Biography of Women and Emancipation in the Americas (Cambridge, 2020). As If She Were Free brings together the biographies of twenty-four women of African descent to reveal how enslaved and recently freed women sought, imagined, and found freedom from the sixteenth through the nineteenth centuries in the Americas.
