As we celebrate Dr. Barragan’s new book, the reception will feature brief remarks from Dr. Camilla Townsend on the contributions of Freedom’s Captives: Slavery and Gradual Emancipation on the Colombian Black Pacific. In addition to recognizing this new publication, we look forward to this event as an opportunity to gather together and socialize with an interdisciplinary cohort of scholars and graduate students.
