Jeff Friedman

(RCHA faculty fellow)

 Jeff Friedman is Professor of Dance Studies at Mason Gross School of the Arts. As a doctoral scholar, creative dance artist, and professional documentarian, his special interest is inhabiting all three roles through the prism of oral history qualitative interviewing theory, method and practice. In particular, he is interested in the role of embodiment as emergent ground for narrating lived experience. Jeff was a Fulbright Fellow at the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst (Frankfurt); appointed research fellow at University Cote d'Azur (Nice, France); visiting lecturer at Auckland University (Aotearoa/New Zealand), and the Allen Smith Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Simmons College (Boston).
