Dr. Stephen Milder is writing a history of the emergence of German and European climate politics in the 1980s and 1990s, with funding from the German Research Foundation. He has taught at Duke University and the University of Groningen, and was a Mellon Foundation fellow at the Rutgers Center for Historical Analysis. His monograph Greening Democracy: The Anti-Nuclear Movement and Political Environmentalism in West Germany and Beyond, 1968?1983 was published in 2017. He has also published articles and book chapters on green politics, the transnational career of Petra Kelly, and the history of democratic praxis, among other topics.
