Henry is a fourth-year PhD candidate specializing in the social history of the Atlantic world during the long eighteenth-century. They graduated from Brandeis University in 2017 with a B.A. in History and Physics. Henry's work focuses on labor, slavery, popular politics, and imperial policy, with a particular focus on the Caribbean, New England, and Britain. Their dissertation, "The Ends of the Ocean: Power and Change at the Atlantic Dockside, 1740-1840," explores the connected origins of revolution, abolition, and mechanization in port labor through a trans-local history of three communities: Newport, Rhode Island; English Harbour, Antigua; and Portsmouth, England.
