Brenann Sutter
Current Research: American, Women's and Gender, African-American History

Bren earned her BA in history and sociology from the University of California, San Diego in 2010. In 2012, she completed her MA in history at New York University. Bren is currently pursuing her PhD in twentieth-century American history with a concentration in women and gender. Her dissertation, “Consuming the Centerfold: Sexuality and the Fantasy of the American Good Life,” explores the construction of sexual identities among marginalized groups as both consumerism and sexual expression started to become key privileges of American citizenship.
