Brooke A. Thomas is a doctoral candidate in history at Rutgers University-New Brunswick specializing in African American history. Her research explores continuity and change in the Black clubwomen’s movement during the 20th century. Her dissertation focuses on the political organizing and engagement of Black women’s organizations from the mid- 1930s through the 1960s. Thomas received her BA in history from Spelman College and an MA in history from the University of South Alabama.
