Meagan is a fourth-year PhD candidate who studies American history and the history of science and technology. Broadly conceived, her dissertation project considers the myriad calculations that were impressed in the service of justifying, maintaining, and undermining the institution of slavery during the Early Republic. Meagan received a B.A. in history from the University of Ottawa in 2012 and an M.A. in history from Concordia University in 2015.
