Nick Sprenger is a fifth year PhD candidate who studies the history of imperial violence in the British Empire during the long nineteenth century. His dissertation, tentatively titled "The Outrage of Empire" examines the phenomenon of outrages through four imperial sites--Ireland, Jamaica, Australia, and British India. Prior to joining Rutgers, he completed both his BA and MA in history at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
