Nathan Darmiento is a third-year Ph.D. student at Rutgers University specializing in Latin American history, with a minor in U.S. history. He earned his B.A. in History and Latin American Studies from the University of Utah in 2022. His current research examines Mexico’s southern border in the state of Chiapas during the mid-twentieth century, focusing on development projects, national security concerns, and diplomatic relations between Mexico and Guatemala.
