Graduate Student Bios

Kyra March is a fourth-year doctoral student in African American History and Women's and Gender History with a certificate in Public Humanities. She graduated from Harvard College in 2022 Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in African American Studies and Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality with a language citation in Gullah. Kyra's research examines Black youth and their kin's extralegal resistance against apprenticeship in Reconstruction North Carolina. She is passionate about public history and currently serves as the Programs, Learning, and Community Engagement Manager at the Royall House and Slave Quarters in Medford, Massachusetts.
