Soumya Swain is a PhD student in Asian and Middle Eastern History, with a minor field in History of Science, Technology, Environment, and Health. She earned her BA in History from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi. Soumya was an assistant archivist at the Archives at the National Center for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, before completing her MA in History at Villanova University. She works on the history of capitalism, agriculture and the chemical industry in 20th century South Asia.
